What is the Agriculture Mobile Irrigation Lab?
The Palm Beach Soil & Water
Conservation District’s Agriculture Mobile Irrigation Lab offers nursery
growers in the C-11 West Basin a
FREE irrigation evaluation, Best Management Practices (BMPs)
assessment and assistance with grant and cost-share funding.
How can the Ag
Mobile Irrigation Laboratory help my nursery?
At the
request of the owner/operator, an irrigation evaluation and BMP
assessment, to determine which practices would be most appropriate for
the nursery, will be performed. Evaluation results and recommendations
for improved irrigation efficiency, water quality and BMPs will then be
provided. Free assistance with BMP implementation, cost share programs
and information about Federal and State programs will also be provided.
How is the Ag Mobile
Irrigation Laboratory Funded?
As part of the
ongoing effort to improve water quality standards in the Everglades
Protection Area, the Palm Beach Soil and Water Conservation District,
the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and the
South Florida Water Management District came together to provide this
free and voluntary service to nursery growers in the C-11 West Basin in
Broward County.
